Age UK
Age UK is the UK’s largest charity working with older people. They put the older person at the heart of every interaction, and ensure that their support is tailored around their needs and wishes. As part of One Digital, Age UK uses its national reach to identify areas with high digital exclusion, and its local knowledge to support those most in need.
Age UK is working with local Age UKs to engage partner organisations and to recruit and train specialist Digital Champions who are focused on the needs of older people. These Digital Champions are integrated into the community, from banks and supermarkets, to rambling clubs, ensuring that digital skills are not taught in isolation. In doing so, Age UK are giving older people the opportunity to develop the digital skills and confidence they need to live an included and independent life.
The local Age UKs currently involved in One Digital are:
- Age UK South Lakeland working with Age UK Carlisle and Eden
- Age UK Blackburn with Darwen working with Age UK Lancashire
- Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire working with Age UK Gloucestershire
- Age UK Leeds working with Age UK Calderdale and Kirklees

Don’t see One Digital in your area?
There might still be an opportunity at your local Age UK. The majority of our local partners provide computer training for older people, which are supported by local volunteers.
